The B2C eCommerce Italian market was expected to grow over 40% in 2005 (compared to 2004 - when Buy.it was born) reaching, based on the final balance data, € 2.800 millions.
The lower annual growth rate currently registered with respect to the rate recorded during the 2003-2004 period, between 60 and 70%, was mostly due to the decreasing of economy growth rate, especially in tourism sector that had pulled the economy in the previous couple of years.
